Jessejoe is alive and sane

I reckon a good many know I’m alive, since I wander by the house often enough on my way home from work.

I’ve been working at a little .com called Google for a few years, and am currently doing infrastructure project management. For the normal humans, that means I get buildings built out and filled up on a schedule and budget.

I’m living out in Decatur (30 minutes east of Tech) with my wife Emily, a roommate, a couple of cats, and 200 gallons of fishtank.

My hobbies include the aforementioned fish, hiking (if you’re reading this, I want to go hiking with you. hit me up) and various geeky nonsense.

Blogosphere. Now with forms!

Hey plebes, your friendly neighborhood WordPress install now supports forms! Yes Indeed! Hot forms! Sassy, turgid forms that breathlessly await your steaming loads of pertinent data. Wild, gristly forms that ripple their perverse musculature in unspeakable waves, all the while muttering and chuckling their carnal assurances in ancient susurrant tongues. So you should fill some of those out!

Here’s an important one that will help Ted’s Montana Grill determine how many troughs to prepare for next Sunday. COMPLETE IT!
[contact-form 3 “Teds Grill”]

Once you’ve finished with that one, I encourage you to head on over to this beauty, and sign up for the Chili Cookoff

OK that’s all I’ve got

Atari Lives

After a nasty illness and surgery I’m back to work (some of you will be amused to note that is at Hooters of America and Hooters Magazine). I was married in September of ’07. For fun I do freelance graphic design and walk 5K’s.

A call to action.

For more than a decade, I’ve watched our chapter grow and flourish. An influx of computer science jobs and related fields has led an unprecedented number of Gamma Tau Psi U’s to remain in the Atlanta area. Similarly business-friendly expansion has brought Psi U Brothers from other chapters to the Atlanta area following job opportunities. I know personally I have worked for or with fraternity Brothers at 4 different companies, and helped more than a dozen obtain various positions. My experience is far from unique; many of our Alumni work with other Psi U’s, or look first to fraternity Brothers when hiring, choosing roommates, and choosing business partners. Our shared college experience has become a basis for shared living and working experiences.

As all of you who passed through the Psi U house at Georgia Tech know, the same building that was a blessing in that it got us onto campus and into an actual fraternity house is sorely in need of comprehensive repair. As some of you may remember, November of 2010 will represent the 40th Anniversary of our chapter.

It seems an appropriate goal that prior to that date, we try and recommit ourselves to the ideals of Psi Upsilon, and to make the most of the station in life we, the alumni, now occupy. To that end I propose all Brothers of the Gamma Tau and Atlanta area Psi U’s join me in making the following commitment.

  1. I will attend Alumni Weekend, April 13 and 14th. Particularly the State of the House address and chili cookoff at the chapter house at 4pm, Sat.
  2. I will donate either during or before that event via check or using the donation page.
